DJ's New Face Will be Unveiled Tuesday Night
The Plan Commission will meet Tuesday at 6 to review the first look at the new plans for the old tavern along Janesville
DJ's Pub and Grill garnered its share of attention when it requested rezoning in order to rebuild the bar at nearly twice the size.
As it stands to be razed with the widening of Janesville Road, the owner, Dan Hewitt, asked for the residential zoning it had operated under because of a grandfather clause be revised to allow for business use. After extended debate between residents who felt the establishment deserved to rebuild and those who worried about the effects an expansion would have on their lakeside homes, a green light was given by the Common Council back in June.
The appearance by representatives of Burbach Builders at the Plan Commission meeting Tuesday night at 6 p.m., contracted to create the designs for the tavern, marks the first since the debate.
The meeting is normally held in the Muskego room in the lower level of City Hall, but as the elections will require additional polling space, the venue has been moved just across the hallway.
In addition, the agenda will feature:
- Requests for expansion in the Muskego Business Park; Accu Stamping on Apollo Drive and Midwest Air Parts on Enterprise Drive are each asking to build onto their facilities, citing an uptick in business
- Request from Nature Scapes to forego the construction of fencing on a portion of their property. It's likely this request will be deferred because city planners have noted other problems with erosion on the property that need to be addressed first before any exceptions to their building plans are approved.
- Fireworks permits, already: Vince and Heather Siegel of Muskego are asking the commission to grant approval for the seasonal business at Piggly Wiggly from June 20 - July 7 and Jetz Fuel from June 15 - July 12.
