Muskego Man Ends Recall Effort

David Brandt officially ends a recall effort that never really got started

David Brandt of Muskego raised a lot of interest when he filed papers to recall Gov. Scott Walker on Nov. 4, 2011, a full week and a half before Democrats were to start their own efforts.

However, that was about all he raised, as many saw the action as a ploy to allow the governor to begin raising money for a recall drive earlier than expected.

Brandt had contributed to Walker and the state GOP in the past, but said at the time that he was starting a recall committee to, “fulfill my friend’s last request.”

Reid Magney of the Government Accountability Board said Brandt did not raise any money or turn in any signatures – and his recall effort is now officially closed.
