Police Looking for Man in Suspicious Incident on Bike Trail

A man's "unusual conversation" with two girls have police concerned about his intentions, but say there's no cause for alarm.

Muskego police want to talk to a man who approached two teenage girls Tuesday afternoon on the Wisconsin Electric Right-of-Way bike trail and had an "unusual conversation" with them.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. when the man, who was walking his dog, encountered the girls, who were between the ages of 14 and 16, near the Meadow Green Access (Joel Drive and Canfield Court). The man let his dog approach the girls and he then proceeded to talk to them.

As the conversation turned odd, the girls left the area to meet some friends on the Wisconsin Electric Power Co. right-of-way at the Pioneer Drive Bridge. Once again, the man allowed his dog to approach the girls, made a few comments and then asked for directions to the McDonald’s restaurant.

Muskego Police Capt. John La Tour said the man "never made any advances, but his comments were enough to make us want to know who this guy is. It may be nothing, but our number one priority is protection, and knowing who's out there is a part of that."

The man is described as a white male, about 57 years old, and was wearing a green jacket or sweatshirt, sweatpants, and old brown or black work boots. He claimed to work for wealthy man residing in the area.
