Special Election Will Have Voters in One Location

May 3rd election for assembly candidates likely to take place in City Hall

The Common Council will vote on a resolution from the finance committee to combine all of its wards for the May 3rd election for the 83rd Assembly district seat.  Democrat Jim Brownlow and Republican David Craig are campaigning for the spot that was vacated by Scott Gunderson late last year.

The city has 17 wards, but as it has a population of less than 35,000, it may combine 2 or more wards for voting purposes, per state statutes.  The resolution proposes to combine all 17 into one, with the polling site for all voters to cast their ballots at City Hall.
