Ice Fishing Bonds Families & Cures Boredom

Winter can become an emotionally trying time of year for many families.  The weather we experience during the winter months in Wisconsin drives a large majority of people indoors for 4 1/2 - 5 months out of the year!

Ice fishing is a wonderful outdoor activity for any family to enjoy--if even only for a short time!  One of the best parts is that if properly prepared and planned out, an ice fishing adventure often facilitates a unique family bonding adventure.

Sure, catching fish is a bonus and brings about instant smiles and satisfaction, but setting a few tip-ups on the ice while playing a little catch with the football, having relay races, or using a handheld GPS and geocaching (outdoor treasure hunting) can be fun as well!

An added benefit to ice fishing is that it is a relatively inexpensive way to venture out onto your favorite local lakes as a boat is not necessary this time of year to access some new productive fishing hotspots.

FACT:  Ice Fishing accounts for nearly 1/4th the annual amount of fish caught in Wisconsin!
