The Impact played four gamesthis past week winning three of the four extending their season record to 6-1.  Only a 2-1 loss in the first games of a doubleheader on Sunday at Racine Kiwanis prevented them from a perfect week. 

They started the week playing a tough Butler team at Zirkle field with a come from behind 8-7 victory.  Down early 3-0 in the first inning and then 7-2 in the in the fifth, they scored 5 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to tie the game.  Base hits by Ron Koetteritz, Andy Liss, Nick Schmidlkofer and Kevin Schoenbach tied the score in the sixth.  They took the lead in the ninth with an RBI walk to Liss.  Josh Beatka came into pitch the bottom of the ninth saving the game for Jake
Jewell.  Jewell pitched the middle six innings earning the victory allowing 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3.

On Saturday, the Impact  played in the Swaba Tourney vs Cylman shutting them out 6-0.  Luke Rozmaryowski pitched the 7 inning game picking up the victory with a 2 hitter, striking out 2 and only walking one.  The impact scored all 6 runs in the first two innings to cruise to the easy victory.  Mike Robinson, Josh Beatka and Kevin Schoenbach collected 2 hits each with Nick Blanchet driving in two runs.

On Sunday, the Impact traveled to Racine to take on the Racine Kiwanis splitting the doubleheader.  The first game got away from them in the bottom of the seventh as Racine scored 2 runs for the victory in the pitcher’s duel.  The Impact scored in the fourth inning on a double by Beatka and an RBI single by Bob Dillon.  David Millshimmer pitched well for the first 5 innings giving way to Beatka in the sixth inning with the bases loaded and no outs.  Beatka pitched the Impact out of the inning, but in the seventh a big error lead to Racine’s 2 runs and the victory.

In the second game, the Impact rebounded jumping all over Racine for an 11-1 victory in 6 innings.  Nick Mlachnik picked up the victory pitching 4 innings, allowing only one hit, striking out 3 and walking 6.  Jewell pitched the final two innings picking up the save allowing one hit and striking out 3.  The Impact pounded out 15 hits with Schmidlkofer leading the way with 4.   Blanchet and Schoenbach picked up 2 each.  Schoenbach’s two were a long double and triple.

The Impact will next play at home at Horn Field on Sunday, June 17 vs West Allis at noon in a doubleheader.  Come out and see some exciting baseball.
