Muskego Impact Take Two From West Allis Nighthawks

The Impact played a doubleheader this past Sunday at Horn Field and came away with two victories over the West Allis Nighthawks.  They won the first game 7-4 and the second one 6-0 to bring their season record to 8-1.

In the first game, they scored 4 runs in the third inning and 2 more runs in the fourth inning.  In the third, hits by Bob Dillon, Nick Schmidlkofer and Andy Liss plated the 4 runs.  In the fourth, hits by Mike Robinson, Nick Blanchet and Dillon plated the 2 runs.  Robinson, Dillon, Kevin Schoenbach and Liss collected 2 hits each as the Impact pounded out 10 hits.  The Nighthawks scored all 4 of their runs in the last inning to make it interesting.  Jake Jewell (3-0) picked up the win pitching 4 innings, allowing only 2 hits, striking out 3 and walking 2.  Nick Mlachnik picked up the save pitching the final three innings allowing 3 hits, striking out one and waking 4.

In the second game, David Mihlsimmer pitched a gem shutting out the Nighthawks allowing only 3 hits, striking out 6 and not walking a batter. The Impact scored in the second inning on a hit by Bob Dillon, which would turn out to be all the runs they needed.  However, they scored in the fourth on a double by Josh Beatka and a hit by Ron Koetteritz.  They finished the scoring in the fifth with hits by Schoenbach, Robinson, Blanchet and Dillon.  The big blow was a 2RBI home run by Blanchet.

The Impact will return to the road again this week playing in the Swaba Tourney at Johnson Creek on Tuesday, June 19.  Then it is back to league action when they travel to New Berlin Malone Field on Sunday, June 24 for noon doubleheader.
