There is a new reason to be “green” in Muskego and it does more than just take care of the environment. Lakepoint Church is working to creating lasting communities in Muskego that center around finding God in everyday life and relationships.
At work last week, I was in a conversation with three of my co-workers. We were sharing our plans for the upcoming weekend, and I mentioned my involvement with the national night out in Muskego. I explained that our church, Lakepoint, was volunteering and we would also have a tent there.
I told them that part of the mission of our church is “uncommon generosity” and we show that by being involved in community events. We volunteer to help with events that need some extra hands, or add some fun with kids activities or handing out frisbees.
At most of these events we can be spotted wearing our green church shirts.
Another one of my co-workers said that she remembered seeing the the “green church” at something else this summer. The whole group thought that it was great that Lakepoint was volunteering and now knows us as the all green church!!
We’ve definitely started to make ourselves known in the community by serving, apprently under the title of “The Green Church”.
