What to Do With Root Bound Plants

So you ask, if you purchased a plant and found this; what do I do???

Well, for starters; get a larger container for it. Before you place this plant in the container, you have to make large cuts into the roots and attempt to open them up. I had to use scissors and made deep cuts into the roots at four points around this root mass. I then opened up the roots as best as I could, sifting thru the mass until I was able to open up some of the roots.

Then it was repotted with worm casings and potting soil. I then watered thoroughly until the water ran thru the container. This plant will be watched for any signs of stress.

After one month, if no stress is found, this plant will become available for rental or sale at Kathy's 2nd Chance Plants, LLC.
