DentaQuest Provides Support for Wisconsin Dental Association Mission of Mercy

More than thirty volunteers from DentaQuest participated in the Wisconsin Dental Association’s (WDA) Mission of Mercy event, a free dental care clinic for adults and children held on June 28 and 29 at the Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Wis. The two-day event was made possible through several supporters, including DentaQuest’s Employee Social Responsibility Committee. DentaQuest also donated coloring books, crayons and dolls to comfort children cared for at the event.

“DentaQuest is proud to be a supporter of the fifth annual Wisconsin Dental Association Mission of Mercy to help bring attention to the oral health needs of Wisconsin residents,” said Velma Gordon, Vice President of Human Resource.  “Often safety net dental programs require additional resources to meet the immediate needs of communities struggling to improve oral health. Wisconsin Dental Association’s clinic is an excellent opportunity for local advocates to demonstrate the need for improvements to the oral health care system in our state.”

This year’s WDA Mission of Mercy provided free access to dental care for approximately 2,000 adults and children, providing an estimated $1 million in care. Through the event, the WDA raised public awareness of the barriers to dental care faced by low-income adults and children in the state and challenged patients, policymakers, and dental professionals to work together to improve Wisconsin residents’ overall oral health.
