1 in 79 Wisconsinites Likely to Hit a Deer

State Farm Insurance has announced its annual list of states where "deer-vehicle confrontations are most likely." Find out how Wisconsin ranks nationally, and which state is number 1.

The chance of a Wisconsin motorist hitting a deer is 1 in nearly 79 drivers.

That statistic comes from State Farm Insurance's annual list of states where "deer-vehicle confrontations are most likely," according to a press release from the company.

Wisconsin is considered a high risk state, and ranks 7th among all states in the nation for deer collions, the press release said. The most likely state in which to hit a deer is West Virginia, where your chances are 1 in 40.

Lucky for Muskego, the two newest businesses are collision repair facilities. Young's Auto has been in business for more than 30 years, but recently rebuilt and enlarged their shop on Janesville Road. Morgan's Collision Center also just opened about two weeks ago along Highway 36.

October and November constitute the mating season for deer, so the animals are more active at dawn and dusk as they move between the places they eat and their bedding areas.
