Fox River Christian Church to Make Muskego Home

The church is expanding to Muskego on Tans Drive, in a facility that should be ready this fall.

With so many Fox River Christian Church members driving 25 minutes or more to get to services in Waukesha, the church decided it had to expand south.

When renovations of a building on Tans Drive in Muskego are completed, it will have done exactly that.

Work on the former Muskego Gateway Entertainment Complex on Tans Drive (just off Racine Avenue) is ongoing and expected to be completed this fall, Pastor Rob Warnell said.

About 250 families from Muskego and surrounding communities—Franklin, Wind Lake and others—will attend church at the new Muskego building.

That built-in congregation should help Fox River avoid the struggles that commonly face new churches, especially those starting from the ground up, Warnell said. Fox River has about 2,700 members in Waukesha and another 170 at its Waterford building.

Also helping Fox River: the church got the building for free, a donation from a member who wishes to remain anonymous.

Warnell, who himself lives in Muskego, said he's excited about Fox River Christian Church joining the community.

"We're looking forward to being a part of Muskego and serving and helping" the community, he said.
