Summer Parks Program: What's New?

The Muskego Parks and Rec program guide arrived a couple of weeks ago; if you missed it, here's what's new for the summer.

Muskego Parks and Recreation are featuring again some summer favorites, like 'Get Out and Play,' Safety City and Movies in the Park. Here are the new programs that could become new favorites:

Top Flight Youth Track and Field Camp - basics of track and field with an emphasis on running jumping and throwing (K5-grade 3 entering school year this fall).

Top Flight Bitty Agility Camp - basics of speed, strength and agility training with groups split into K5 and 1st grade, and 2nd and 3rd graders.

Introduction to Football - learn basic football skills with an emphasis on teamwork and having fun (ages 6-12)

Cheerleading Camp - learn the basic fundamental of cheerleading motions, jumps, techniques, rhythm and crowd-leading skills.  This is a collaborative program with New Berlin, and all participants will learn a routine for the New Berlin 4th of July parade. (Ages 4-12)

Pom/Jazz Experience - learn the proper skills and techniques used for both styles and learn a few routines. (Ages 5-10)

Basketball Dribbling Camp - Coach Krause from Muskego High School will teach skills through drills, games and competition, as well as incorporating lay-ups and shooting. (Grades 2-8 entering school year this fall)

Infant Massage - learn different strokes and massage techniques to use on your child; benefits include release of tension, relaxation, bonding and aid in digestion, sleeping and improving weight gain. This is a collaborative program with New Berlin. (Adults)

Empower This House - a program that focuses on personal development, health and wellness, household organization and personal finances to achieve a healthier household balance. This is a collaborative program with Franklin. (Adults)

Mortgage 2.0 - mortgage experts will be on hand with market and financing tips for anyone looking to buy or refinance a home. (Adult)

TLS Weight Loss Solutions - try a new lifestyle approach to weight management by changing the way you look at food and at yourself; this is a program preview only (Adult)

Trendy Nails -learn the latest trends in nails, including magnetic nail polish, gel polish, manicure styles, applying and removing polish. Bring your two favorite shades of polish to experiment with you. This is offered with an adults only or an adults/ages 10+ option. This is a collaborative program with Franklin.

Intro to Becoming a Love and Logic Parent - learn how to use empathy and love to neutralize arguing; wouldn't it be great to win the 'take out the garbage' argument? (Ages 15 - adult)

MS Excel and Windows 7 courses - from beginner to proficient, learn a few skills in Microsoft Excel and in the Windows 7 programs (Adult)
