Sustainability Focus of Upcoming Tess Corners Elementary Event

Tess Corners will host a Green Apple Day of Service, which includes a tree-planting and educational component.

Tess Corners Elementary School will be among four schools in southeastern Wisconsin taking part in a sustainability initiative on Saturday.

The Green Apple Day of Service will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the school, 6800 Durham Drive. Students, parents and community members will learn about the role trees play in their neighborhoods, help plant an Autumn Blaze maple tree in front of the school and sign their name on green apples that will be displayed throughout the city, according to a news release.

Green Apple is an international initiative that seeks to transform schools into healthy, safe, cost-efficient and productive learning places.
