Security Upgrades Made at Muskego School Entrances

Several schools now have a designated, locked entry where visitors will sign in prior to entering the facilities.

The Muskego-Norway School District has made upgrades it says will enhance security at several schools.

Improvements have been made to the entrances at Muskego, Tess Corners, Country Meadows and Lakeview elementary schools and at Bay Lane Middle School.

Those schools now have secure entries—a designated, locked entry at each school where visitors will sign in prior to entering the facility, said Jeremiah Johnson, buildings and grounds supervisor and safety coordinator for the district.

The district's other schools—Muskego High School, Lake Denoon Middle School and Mill Valley Elementary School—already had secure entries in place, Johnson said.

The Muskego School Board previously approved spending $120,000 to reconfigure spaces in order to accommodate the enhancements.
