Budgeting for Jammin

The 25% budget cut was thrown out by the end of the night, and the funding is continuing for another great Summer Season of Jammin' on Janesville in 2013!

At the request of the Muskego Chamber of Commerce, I was able to attend a City Hall meeting in which potential budget cuts would effect Jammin' on Janesville.  It was pretty fun because I've never seen a meeting like this in person.  Next thing you know, I was getting nudged to say something... something that would encourage our aldermen to continue funding at the same rate.

I shared how Jammin' on Janesville was a huge asset to Lakepoint in our start-up months - offering a meaningful connection point with city.  I also explained how even aside from the needs of the participating businesses and organizations, the event was just plain old good for the quality of living in Muskego.  Relational and social opportunities are an asset to the lives of all residents, and in all my years in Muskego I haven't seen any such opportunity done as well as Jammin.

The owner of Domino's offered an amazing presentation of how his business beat the odds of profit margin during construction.

The final vote is tonight. It was only a "straw poll" taken at that COW meeting.

It's amazing how many meetings it takes to complete something!

Yes, Muskego has great businesses! We also have a great Executive Director -- Tina Weiss -- who weRead More can thank for much of the Chamber's growth, as well as our own.
