Delish! Schedules Grand Opening March 15

If you see the lights on inside the space in the Westwood Center mall at Janesville Road and Westwood Drive that was once Papa Joe's, the answer is yes, they are nearly open. 

Friday will mark a private opening for Delish! New American Grill, designed to make sure things are working smoothly before their big grand opening on March 15. 

"We want to make sure everything is perfect before we publicly open," explained owner Tracy Horan. So a few "focus groups" have been invited out to sample the menu and offer any suggestions, which seems a smart strategy in a space that has seen its share of restaurants over the past 10 years, including a Chinese restaurant, deli and Chicago-style dog establishment.

Delish! brings a local flavor in its decor, using images from Dandelion Park to adorn the walls. Additional artwork also recalls the golden age of the diner and adds a little fun to the atmosphere.

The menu features your basic American favorites prepared in unique combinations using names that locals may remember, like the Tailspin Burger (with pepper jack cheese, avocado and jalapenos) and the Skyliner dog (bacon wrapped around a hot dog). Build your own sandwiches also start at $5.95 to suit any taste.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and may include Sundays if demand dictates.
