Don't Overlook the Obvious

Domino's delivers more than pizza

The owner of the Domino's Pizza has taken his critics seriously in the past year, and has taken steps to improve the often-maligned characterization of their pizza.

However, while the pizza has been grabbing all the press, it was a pleasant surprise to learn that their menu also included hot toasted sandwiches and bread bowls.

This trip to the Muskego Domino's in the Janesville Commons mall (just east of Pick n Save), we opted for the Chicken Parm sandwich, which was as promised a bit messy, but also featured a tomato-basil marinara and loads of cheese around chicken breast, all in ample portions.

The bread bowl we chose, the Chicken Carbonara, didn't disappoint either.  A fresh baked bread sits underneath penne pasta, chicken, bacon (the real stuff) and onions in an alfredo sauce.  In either case, the sauces and seasonings were just right and not bland.

Sandwiches are regularly $5.99, and the bread bowls are $6.99, and like the pizza can be ordered for pick up or delivery.  The restaurant doesn't offer dine-in, but with comfort food like this, there's no place like home to enjoy it.
