Inside the New CrossFit Muskego

CrossFit Muskego has opened its doors in the Muskego Business Park.

"We get asked all the time what CrossFit is," says Jay Lorino, co-owner of the new CrossFit Muskego, in the Muskego Business Park at W184 S8408 Challenger Drive.

"CrossFit, in its most simple definition, is constantly varied, functional movement performed at high intensity."

It sounds fancy, Lorino says, but it's actually pretty simple. It includes gymnastics-like exercises, weight lifting, certain body-weight movements, traditional power lifting.

Trainers then mix and match those activities into a workout.

"CrossFit is truly for everyone," Lorino said. "It's nothing to be intimidated by. The nice thing about CrossFit is that it's universally scale-able. Anyone can come into a class and scale the movements to what their skill level is."

CrossFit opened last week in 10,000 square feet of space, with 8,000 of that dedicated training space.

Visitors to the facility can find some thousands of pounds of weights, 20 Olympic-quality barbells, five ropes and 10 sets of gymnastics rings.

Lorino and co-owner Blue Aldridge encourage Muskego residents to give CrossFit a shot.

"Come see us," Lorino said. "If you want real fitness, real results, come see Blue and I, we'd be happy to have you."
