Starbucks Readies For Opening

The coffee shop will host a community event Thursday evening before its first full day of business Friday.

The new Starbucks at the corner of Moorland and Janesville roads is buzzing with activity in anticipation of its first full day of business Friday.

Workers were busy Tuesday setting the tables, stocking the supplies, accepting deliveries and making sure everything will be just right when the company makes its Muskego debut.

"We're excited to be part of the community," store manager Amber Zink said.

Ahead of its first official day, Starbucks will hold a community event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday that gives residents a sneak preview of the store.

The event includes a formal ribbon-cutting at 5 p.m. followed by live music, face painting, food and complimentary beverages.

The store then opens at 5 a.m. Friday for its first official day. Starbucks opens at 5 a.m. Monday through Friday and 5:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The company has long wanted a Muskego location—and customers have been asking for one, said Zink, a Tess Corners resident who has worked for Starbucks for the past 11 years.

"We've been here for a few days and we've had people already coming to our doors ready for us," she said. "The community seems very excited. I think it will be a great location for us."

Zink added the new Starbucks still has a few openings on its staff. About 70 percent of the staff is hired, with most coming from within Muskego.

Starbucks is the first business to open in a new multi-tenant building near the Janesville and Moorland intersection. No other businesses have yet been announced.
