Women in Business Get Special Attention

With the top jobs in Muskego occupied by women, it only seems natural that groups are forming with a focus on women in business.

Two new groups have organized that will launch their first meetings this week, with each putting the spotlight on women. Fitting for Muskego, as the mayor's, school superintendent's and Muskego Chamber of Commerce's office chairs are occupied by women.

Matty's will be the location of a Monday Night Ladies League starting Jan. 21. at 7 p.m. While not too buttoned up, it's networking nonetheless, and the goal is to offer events targeting women's interests.

Dr. Janice Jurack, owner and president of Muskego Health and Wellness will be advising speaking to attendees on the 'Three Pillars for Health in the New Year.'

A more formal option is Women's Business Connections (WBC), which is an 'arm' of the Muskego Chamber that hopes to gather women in the area who wish to network, learn about the latest tools to market themselves and their business, and provide support.

The WBC will meet at 11:45 a.m. at the Muskego Public Library on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Bring a lunch and meet other women and perhaps make a connection that can help you grow your business. The initial meeting will feature a member optimization opportunity to help everyone use the online tools available through the Muskego Chamber to its greatest potential.

The group will meet monthly and provide topics on marketing, education and any relevant topics to women and business. The first meeting is free, but membership in the group will require a Chamber membership as wel as a $50 yearly membership in WBC.
