Pest Prevention for 2014

One of the last things you probably want in the new year is a pest problem. Make some resolutions to change your home by putting the tips listed below into action, and keep pests from making way into your home in 2014.

*Seal holes and cracks on the outside of the home including entry points for  utilities and pipes.

*Keep tree branches and shrubbery well trimmed and away from the house.

*Keep basements, attics, and crawl spaces well ventilated and dry.

*Store your garbage in sealed containers, and dispose of garbage regularly.

*Make repairs on rotted roof shingles and fascia; some insects are drawn to  deteriorating wood.

*Replace weather-stripping and repair loose mortar around basement foundation  and windows.

*Fire wood should be stored at least 20 feet away from the house and five inches  off the ground.

Call a qualified pest professional with questions and hire for treatment if necessary.
