Emo, the Milwaukee canine unit and his police officer, Christine joined Dr. Jodie at the last Jammin’ on Janesville to create an awareness of the benefit of canine units for public safety. The Muskego police have expressed a desire to add canine patrol to their force. When Dr. Jodie saw this article in Patch she immediately called a client with connections to a Milwaukee area philanthropist who loves dogs and has a passion for supporting local police through the purchase of these expensive trained service dogs.
Within hours this generous benefactor produced a Letter of Commitment for $18,000. If the city had any financial reservations for approval of this dog, they need no longer!
At Friday’s Jammin’, Animal Doctor Holistic Veterinary Complex, located on Janesville Rd., rapidly collected hundreds of signatures from Muskego area residents who want to show their support for the Muskego police department’s desire to patrol with a dog. In addition, these residents purchased and drank a whole lot of $1.00 root beer floats whose proceeds will be donated to this service dog initiative as well.
