Paws Freeze Fast!

Just a quick, strong reminder, pets can get frost bite rapidly. Frost bite can occur in five minutes in this weather. Some sensitive pets are holding up painful toes in  two or three minutes!
We are also seeing a lot of issues with pets not feeling well due to abdominal discomfort. They are reluctant to do their business outside, so some "hold back". They become constipated or even hold back on urination. When they finally do go, they spasm, feeling like they still need to go. Some dogs are more likely to urinate or defecate in the house. Give them a break!
You could provide potty pads or even diapers if necessary.
You could also provide them with little boots and sweaters or jackets.
You can provide plenty of fresh, possibly warm or flavored water to actually encourage consumption, to manage constipation. Feed a small spoonful of baked sweet potato, canned pumpkin or blended green beans if you suspect your pet is constipated. Consider adding fish oil and/or coconut oil to your dog's food to "lubricate" as well as provide many other healthful benefits!
Most importantly, take this cold weather opportunity to snuggle with your pet. That's what life is all about!
