Two additional lanes on Janesville Road between Racine Avenue and Lannon Drive should be open to motorists by the time the snow flies.
Work on the second phase, between Racine and Lannon Drive, is under way now. The bulk of the work should be done by November, which would allow motorists to use the expanded roadway, Project Manager Ed Hinrichs said.
Some of the work, such as landscaping, will wait until next spring, Hinrichs said.
Janesville has been under construction since 2012. The first phase, between Lannon and Moorland, finished last month.
