Park Arthur's Sledding Hill Delivers Wicked Fun

It's a steep drop for the thrill seekers young and old, but sledders find the hill at Park Arthur a great ride

The winter finally brought enough snow to recreate on top of, so one of the first places to check out was Park Arthur's new sledding hill.

About a dozen brave souls were there around noon on Saturday, and despite a steep climb and an intimidating view from the top, no one complained about the ride down, which most kids deemed as "awesome."

The hill is designed with a fairly steep dropoff, then planes out a little before a final slide. Smaller tots or those with a fear of heights can climb about halfway and slide down the 'bowl' along the side of the hill.

Access to the hill is off of Martin Drive this year, but by next winter will also be entered from College Avenue. In addition, permanent restrooms in the park will be installed. There are no lights yet, but those also will be ready to go by next year.
