Though we have never met, Noelle Lorraine is, in my opinion, a Patriot. Why? Because like other Patriots, we share the same love of country, dedication to freedom, belief in our Constitution, and high regard for the Founding Fathers of this great land.
Subsequent to last week's election, Noelle exercised her Constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech and published a blog post regretting the outcome. She spoke from her heart in a moving and effective, perhaps even eloquent, way.
Unfortunately, some morally bankrupt cowards subsequently posted such vicious personal attacks upon Noelle that the editor of the Patch had to close off comments, something not previously done. It is always amazing to me that those on the Left who are the first to decry any attempt to moderate their speech and writings, are also the first to deny others the same right to speak out--and do so through verbal and physical intimidation.
This is completely unacceptable in a free society. The persons who engaged in these juvenile, senseless, and abusive threats went beyond the bounds of civil discourse, and entered the realm of those who would shout “Fire!” in a crowded theater, or incite mobs to riot.
Noelle will not be silenced by these cowardly attacks. The Patriots will stand with her, shoulder to shoulder, and will be honored to fight for the cause of liberty at her side. There is a quote from Winston Churchill that is eminently applicable to this incident, and to Noelle:
"A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality."
Much as Admiral Yamamoto said after the attack on Pearl Harbor, those who did this to Noelle have "awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."
I stand corrected on the GAAP claim, but the budget was still balanced under the same accounting methods as Doyle used. You are still wrong about your union negotiation claim. As far as the '$20 million in new interest' claim you keep repeating, the state debt has actually decreased by $1,554,157,000 from FY12 to FY13. If it took $20 million in new interest to do that, I'm OK with it. "Wisconsin has a total state debt of approximately $79,600,643,000 when calculated by adding the total of outstanding official debt, pension and other post-employment benefits (OPEB) liabilities, Unemployment Trust Fund loans, and the budget gap. The FY2013 state debt total is less than the prior year's approximately debt total of $81,154,800,000." http://sunshinereview.org/index.php/Wisconsin_state_budget You seem to be moving away from your 'Walker did an about-face' claim by clouding the discussion with your 'are we better off now?' comments.
I'm not wrong about negotiating with public employee unions, it's video documented. I've posted the link before, as have others. Again, why. Just to get elected. Since we've had some time with Mr. Walker (when he isn't out-of-state preaching at "conservative" think tanks, etc.) I think it's fair to start looking at where we are now. He made claims that were unmeetable, then once in office pushed those aside focused on ALEC legislation. ALEC union stripping, ALEC corporate tax cuts, ALEC concealed carry/Stand Your Ground, ALEC voter ID, etc. That's why I supported the recall. With enough people around him to prop him up, he probably could have masked his incompetence with a reasonable platform. But at least it's all out there for people to see.
"...I dumb it done for ya, so to speak." What exactly does "dumb it done" mean? I'm lost......
Dont' forget the slashed-tires incident years ago in Milwaukee, or the woman arrested in Detroit for punching a Romney voter in the face at a polling station, then smacked the police that detained her. This story here seems trumped up to be something it's not. I don't believe she actually set fire to her car, but it's clearly being milked for more than the police/fire are finding. even still, pretending that your side isn't the one with a reputation for psychotic and violent behavior only does you more wrong. Acknowledging the problem, then weeding those fools out, or teaching something different in your schools would be a good place to start. Because it's kind of hard to separate philosophy from the rap-sheet anymore..... Just keep it in perspective. Noelle didn't torch someone else's car. But the threats of violence by the Left are real, and not against their own vehicles.
He was more conservative than blue dogs today.
Obviously, you conservatives have no control over someone who makes you look bad. Neither do we liberals.
Your point was that you claimed that Walker did an 'about-face' after he was elected, and that he 'embarked on an agenda that he did not run on'. I rate your claim as false. He may have set some unrealistic goals, but he hasn't done the 'about-face' that you are claiming. Walker was told by the union heads (before he even took office) that there was no point in trying to negotiate with the union--they were unwilling to do so. You cannot fault Walker for failing to keep his word when the union stated that they would not negotiate with him.

As for Ms. Lorraine, her shenanigans ought to be investigated by police. Did she intentionally set the fire in her car? Did she attempt to defraud people, asking for money under the guise that she was the victim of a political hate crime? (Granted, she would have been attempting to defraud brainless imbeciles on the right, but it's still a crime even if the mark is a brainless imbecile.) As for Patch, if this is all a hoax, does this sink Ms. Lorraine below the extremely low bar for bloggers on this site, and justify turning off her blogging privileges? I understand that Bryant Divilbiss is permitted to regurgitate pre-chewed baloney that he hears on Rush Limbaugh and FoxNews, no matter how utterly fact-free it is. But I suspect that using Patch as a vehicle for fraud would besmirch what low ethical standards the site has.
I think I missed something at some point in the past. I always try not to have preconceived notions about people until I know them myself. I hope that some of the accusations being stated on this thread are not true, but I will refrain from making an assumption about nonfactual information until such time the truth comes out.
I'm familiar with the *some misfortune has befallen me please send money to help out a friend* tactic on the net. In my case it was that thieves stole a laptop during a break-in, and the person turned out to be completely fake. People need to take that sort of thing with a grain of salt.
As poor an attitude I have for Fox News and the Conservative media I would like to take a moment to call a truce. We need adults to have adult conversations to address our issues. The constant finger pointing and lack of trust doesn't do anyone any good. Let us all let by gones be by gones and move foreward from here.
I don't know who set fire to her car or if it was even set on fire. If so, shame on that person.
Just look at this crazy idiot, "WPN1488." His user name is nothing but a string of white power signs strung together - if I had to guess, I'd assume that he's a sallow, fat loser like Wade Michael Page. He spouts hateful drivel that he copied off of a website curated by other sallow, fat losers. I'll take his advice, though, and "take stock of the evil" that surrounds me: Hey, idiot - if you cared about "White Western Civilization," you'd sterilize yourself in order to avoid spawning more born failures / psychopaths like yourself and Wade Michael Page. "White Power" is the biggest scam ever perpetrated; you're an impotent disgrace, and the country is leaving you behind.
