Cowards Awaken a Sleeping Giant

Noelle Lorraine attacked for her Patch blog post, but the Patriots stand with her.

Though we have never met, Noelle Lorraine is, in my opinion, a Patriot. Why? Because like other Patriots, we share the same love of country, dedication to freedom, belief in our Constitution, and high regard for the Founding Fathers of this great land.

Subsequent to last week's election, Noelle exercised her Constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech and published a blog post regretting the outcome. She spoke from her heart in a moving and effective, perhaps even eloquent, way.

Unfortunately, some morally bankrupt cowards subsequently posted such vicious personal attacks upon Noelle that the editor of the Patch had to close off comments, something not previously done. It is always amazing to me that those on the Left who are the first to decry any attempt to moderate their speech and writings, are also the first to deny others the same right to speak out--and do so through verbal and physical intimidation.

This is completely unacceptable in a free society. The persons who engaged in these juvenile, senseless, and abusive threats went beyond the bounds of civil discourse, and entered the realm of those who would shout “Fire!” in a crowded theater, or incite mobs to riot.

Noelle will not be silenced by these cowardly attacks. The Patriots will stand with her, shoulder to shoulder, and will be honored to fight for the cause of liberty at her side. There is a quote from Winston Churchill that is eminently applicable to this incident, and to Noelle:

"A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality."

Much as Admiral Yamamoto said after the attack on Pearl Harbor, those who did this to Noelle have "awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."

Bren:
I stand corrected on the GAAP claim, but the budget was still balanced under the same accounting methods as Doyle used. You are still wrong about your union negotiation claim. As far as the '$20 million in new interest' claim you keep repeating, the state debt has actually decreased by $1,554,157,000 from FY12 to FY13. If it took $20 million in new interest to do that, I'm OK with it. "Wisconsin has a total state debt of approximately $79,600,643,000 when calculated by adding the total of outstanding official debt, pension and other post-employment benefits (OPEB) liabilities, Unemployment Trust Fund loans, and the budget gap. The FY2013 state debt total is less than the prior year's approximately debt total of $81,154,800,000." http://sunshinereview.org/index.php/Wisconsin_state_budget You seem to be moving away from your 'Walker did an about-face' claim by clouding the discussion with your 'are we better off now?' comments.
Bren November 14, 2012 at 04:27 pm
Cow, my point was, why make claims that "you" (Scott Walker) could achieve goals that your better-educated and more experienced predecessor could not? Illogical. It's absolutely no surprise that Walker couldn't achieve a balanced budget following GAAP or that the 250,000 new job goal is an impossibility. Even though it's a politician's job to b.s., this was/is out of orbit. Why. Just to get elected.
I'm not wrong about negotiating with public employee unions, it's video documented. I've posted the link before, as have others. Again, why. Just to get elected. Since we've had some time with Mr. Walker (when he isn't out-of-state preaching at "conservative" think tanks, etc.) I think it's fair to start looking at where we are now. He made claims that were unmeetable, then once in office pushed those aside focused on ALEC legislation. ALEC union stripping, ALEC corporate tax cuts, ALEC concealed carry/Stand Your Ground, ALEC voter ID, etc. That's why I supported the recall. With enough people around him to prop him up, he probably could have masked his incompetence with a reasonable platform. But at least it's all out there for people to see.

The only people who get 'free' birth control that I know of are on Medicaid or those lucky few with Cadillac health plans provided 100% by their employers. Everyone else has paid co-pays AND either all or part of the insurance premiums. That means married and single people alike, because married people continue to enjoy sex, although sometimes it doesn't seem that way.

Surprisingly thoughtful - thanks Matt.
Chris Rhine November 14, 2012 at 04:41 pm
The sad fact is this is a ploy for attention - she knows we conservatives are up in arms over our loss last week so why not use a happy accident to martyr herself and drive the base? Unfortunately she didn't think very far ahead and is now stuck between a lie and a hard place. She can deny it all she wants, claim the investigation was faulty, whatever... in the end all she has done is make a fool out of herself and her loyal friends who have gone all in to defend her because they believe her. That's the saddest piece of all, the fact that she would use her friends this way.

@Eve
"...I dumb it done for ya, so to speak." What exactly does "dumb it done" mean? I'm lost......
Edward Willing November 14, 2012 at 04:56 pm
Hey Elantow, the attack on Sean Kedzie really happened. And so did the nails dropped in the parking lot of a family-event rally in Racine. I was there and saw it myself.
Dont' forget the slashed-tires incident years ago in Milwaukee, or the woman arrested in Detroit for punching a Romney voter in the face at a polling station, then smacked the police that detained her. This story here seems trumped up to be something it's not. I don't believe she actually set fire to her car, but it's clearly being milked for more than the police/fire are finding. even still, pretending that your side isn't the one with a reputation for psychotic and violent behavior only does you more wrong. Acknowledging the problem, then weeding those fools out, or teaching something different in your schools would be a good place to start. Because it's kind of hard to separate philosophy from the rap-sheet anymore..... Just keep it in perspective. Noelle didn't torch someone else's car. But the threats of violence by the Left are real, and not against their own vehicles.
Edward Willing November 14, 2012 at 05:00 pm
The egg would be on the face of democrats who would never nominate JFK today.
He was more conservative than blue dogs today.
Randy1949 November 14, 2012 at 05:09 pm
@Edward Willing -- If there's weeding to be done, you can start in your own garden. The last five days taught me this lady has a problem with the truth. That's as plainly as I can say it.
Obviously, you conservatives have no control over someone who makes you look bad. Neither do we liberals.
CowDung November 14, 2012 at 05:09 pm
Bren:
Your point was that you claimed that Walker did an 'about-face' after he was elected, and that he 'embarked on an agenda that he did not run on'. I rate your claim as false. He may have set some unrealistic goals, but he hasn't done the 'about-face' that you are claiming. Walker was told by the union heads (before he even took office) that there was no point in trying to negotiate with the union--they were unwilling to do so. You cannot fault Walker for failing to keep his word when the union stated that they would not negotiate with him.
stephen murdock November 14, 2012 at 05:13 pm
yea this should all be fun...you accuse someone of burning your car but this is all fun...liar...liar...liar...how come none of your friends are coming forward who know that the engine in this car was toast...roy...you looked at it you fat pig...tell the truth for once...
ELantow November 14, 2012 at 05:15 pm
If anyone would bother calling the police, they would find out for themselves this is all a big lie. And there is no investigation, never was, never will be. It wasn't arson and she knew that the minute the FD and PD left her house that morning. Call the Muskego PD at (262) 679-4130 ask for the detective bureau, ask about the car fire out on Woods. They will tell you. Now, they have been alerted to the fact that Noelle is claiming that Lt Constantineau is working an arson case. That is a lie. Waukesha is not working on it, the FBI is not working on it. Chris is right, she is trying to martyr herself and be important, and she isn't. She has asked people for money to replace her car and that is why she is making this up, because if she told people the truth, they wouldn't give her a dime, they would just call her a fool for not having insurance.
stephen murdock November 14, 2012 at 05:16 pm
so some new information has come to light...roy actually looked at the engine in the car before it was burned...the engine was shot...the car was worthless...typical knotz bs...

Does this mean the giant can go back to sleep? Nighty night!

It's odd that this crime isn't showing up on Muskego PD's crime report. There are two vehicle damage reports, but both date to late October.

@stephan murdock -- Dude, we really don't need this kind of comment.
stephen murdock November 14, 2012 at 05:42 pm
i think its a valid point...and is the reason this fake burnt car is even a issue...stupid fake knotz...

Conservatives are used to being lied to by media figures who want to whip them into a frenzy. Conservative David Frum explained to Conservative Joe Scarborough how conservatives have been "fleeced and lied to" by the "conservative entertainment complex". It's just an occupational hazard of living in a make-believe information vacuum. I suspect there are at least a few bubble world residents who know in their hearts that they're being taken for fools. The rest will believe absolutely anything, no matter how ludicrous or contrary to simple reason.
As for Ms. Lorraine, her shenanigans ought to be investigated by police. Did she intentionally set the fire in her car? Did she attempt to defraud people, asking for money under the guise that she was the victim of a political hate crime? (Granted, she would have been attempting to defraud brainless imbeciles on the right, but it's still a crime even if the mark is a brainless imbecile.) As for Patch, if this is all a hoax, does this sink Ms. Lorraine below the extremely low bar for bloggers on this site, and justify turning off her blogging privileges? I understand that Bryant Divilbiss is permitted to regurgitate pre-chewed baloney that he hears on Rush Limbaugh and FoxNews, no matter how utterly fact-free it is. But I suspect that using Patch as a vehicle for fraud would besmirch what low ethical standards the site has.
Craig November 14, 2012 at 05:47 pm
Bren: Craig does trust Hoffa and Randy, he would even give them keys to Craig's house when he is out of town.
I think I missed something at some point in the past. I always try not to have preconceived notions about people until I know them myself. I hope that some of the accusations being stated on this thread are not true, but I will refrain from making an assumption about nonfactual information until such time the truth comes out.
Randy1949 November 14, 2012 at 05:52 pm
If she asked for money here I must have missed it. But if she has, it's problematic.
I'm familiar with the *some misfortune has befallen me please send money to help out a friend* tactic on the net. In my case it was that thieves stole a laptop during a break-in, and the person turned out to be completely fake. People need to take that sort of thing with a grain of salt.
FreeThought Troy November 14, 2012 at 06:03 pm
I believe both sides are guilty of this very thing. As much as I love Ed Schultz, he did a report on Paul Ryan's first interview and blasted him for his views. That was out of line. The clips Ed played I agreed with. Republicans polling was off and they had no idea the urban areas would turn out the way they did. I didn't get the vibe Paul Ryan was doing anything but analyzing the loss as he say it.
As poor an attitude I have for Fox News and the Conservative media I would like to take a moment to call a truce. We need adults to have adult conversations to address our issues. The constant finger pointing and lack of trust doesn't do anyone any good. Let us all let by gones be by gones and move foreward from here.
Randy1949 November 14, 2012 at 06:04 pm
Thank you for the vote of confidence, Craig. Yes, you missed something. Anyone who was subscribed to Ms. Lorraine's blog saw posts that were deleted. Anyone who used that information to check for themselves (it's a matter of public record) gained some insight into her veracity.
I don't know who set fire to her car or if it was even set on fire. If so, shame on that person.
ELantow November 14, 2012 at 06:09 pm
You must have missed the memo. Arson was not involved. Thanks for playing.
stephen murdock November 14, 2012 at 06:11 pm
hahahahahaha.....
Denise Konkol (Editor) November 14, 2012 at 06:19 pm
Arson is NOT suspected. This comes from the investigating officer, Capt. John La Tour, the fire chief, and as of last night the chief of police. If Lt. Constantineau is investigating this, it is news to the rest of the department. It's also why we haven't posted a story on a fire involving a $300 car. Time to move along...
Taoist Crocodile November 14, 2012 at 06:20 pm
So, after some serious soul searching, while reading the comments on this blog post, I've decided that all of my prejudices against conservatives are completely justified.
Just look at this crazy idiot, "WPN1488." His user name is nothing but a string of white power signs strung together - if I had to guess, I'd assume that he's a sallow, fat loser like Wade Michael Page. He spouts hateful drivel that he copied off of a website curated by other sallow, fat losers. I'll take his advice, though, and "take stock of the evil" that surrounds me: Hey, idiot - if you cared about "White Western Civilization," you'd sterilize yourself in order to avoid spawning more born failures / psychopaths like yourself and Wade Michael Page. "White Power" is the biggest scam ever perpetrated; you're an impotent disgrace, and the country is leaving you behind.
Denise Konkol (Editor) November 14, 2012 at 06:20 pm
@ELantow: please DON'T inundate the PD with calls. They have better use of their time than to quell rumors.
stephen murdock November 14, 2012 at 06:30 pm
no the egg on the face is no arson....hahahahahaha
Mark Maley (Editor) November 14, 2012 at 06:31 pm
And with that comment from Muskego Editor Denise Konkol, who HAS looked into what happened, we are going to shut down the comments on this post. Too much innuendo, name-calling, etc.

Yes, Muskego has great businesses! We also have a great Executive Director -- Tina Weiss -- who weRead More can thank for much of the Chamber's growth, as well as our own.
