Crime Corner: Fireworks and Drunks in Ditches

Multiple incidents this week of folks opting to curl up in ditches on their way home from drinking, and others who haven't given up on the 4th of July

Saturday, September 1 –

  • A 53 year old Muskego man was arrested for drunk driving on Moorland Rd. at Janesville Rd.
  • A vehicle parked at a residence in the S7600 block of Quietwood Dr. had the windows heavily damaged overnight.
  • A homeowner in the W13900 block of Boxhorn Dr. reported the theft of a ladder.
  • A homeowner in the S8300 block of Providence Way was advised regarding shooting off fireworks and playing music too loud.
  • The police department received a report of fireworks being shot off from a boat in Kingston Bay, however, no one the officers spoke to were willing to take responsibility for the fireworks.
  • A 16 year old New Berlin girl was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store.
  • A 23 year old Waukesha man was arrested on Racine Ave. at Tans Dr. for his second drunk driving offense.

Sunday, September 2 –

  • A traffic stop in the area of Woods Rd. and Janesville Rd. led to a 20 year old Muskego woman in the car being ticketed for underage drinking.
  • Several young people were caught toilet papering a home in the S7800 block of Ancient Oaks Dr. They returned and cleaned up the mess.
  • A 27 year old Muskego man was found lying in the ditch in the area of Tess Corners Dr. and Cornell Dr. Investigation found he was on his way to Gaulke Dr. and was too intoxicated to make it. He was turned over to a family member.
  • A 17 year old Muskego man was found unconscious, lying in the ditch in the area of Racine Ave. and Lochcrest Blvd., around 6:00am. He was cited for underage drinking and released to his mother.
  • A homeowner in the W12700 block of Acker Dr. reported a theft from their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway.
  • Walmart reported a retail theft of electronics. On September 3, a 25 year old man and his 20 year old girlfriend, both from Milwaukee, were arrested for multiple thefts at several Walmart stores in the area.
  • Someone poured syrup on a mailbox in the W19700 block of Janesville Rd.
  • Officers located a vehicle on Regency Ct., which matched the description of a vehicle involved in a theft of a purse from Idle Isle on August 20th. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the 21 year old Greenfield man driving the car for the theft and an outstanding warrant through Brookfield Municipal Court.
  • Fireworks complaints were received in the areas of Foxboro Place and Foxboro Circle; W19000 Derby Ct.; S7600 Circle Dr.; W19300 Woods Rd.; Denoon Park; Janesville Dr. and Pioneer Dr.; and Glenbrook Dr. Several subjects were advised. Note: no matter the holiday, without a permit and unless its the 4th of July, fireworks are still illegal.
  • A noise complaint was received regarding a wedding reception in the S8300 block of Woods Rd. They were advised and turned the music down.


Tuesday, September 4 – The theft of construction material was reported in the W12800 block of Schaefer Drive.

Thursday, September 6 – A 21 year old Muskego man was arrested after assaulting a 20 year old Muskego man on Regency Court.
