At 4:18 p.m. Dec. 22, Franklin police officers were called to Durham Auto Salvage and Sales, 10568 S. 124th St., after someone reported a truck in a ditch in the area. When an officer arrived, she found Pulver, who smelled of alcohol and said he was driving the truck.

Pulver said he met a man who lived at the location while drinking at the Irish Cottage, 11433 W. Ryan Road, and decided to give the man a ride home to be nice because the man only had a bicycle. Officers soon discovered Pulver had driven over the man while the man was trying to get his bicycle out of the back of the truck.

The victim was found inside a house nearby and he said the truck ran over his chest and he rolled out from underneath. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital and treated for injuries. Pulver told police all he did was “give some (expletive) idiot a ride home and the (expletive) idiot must have fallen under my truck.”

Pulver failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of 0.145, which is twice more than the legal limit to drive in Wisconsin.

Pulver was previously convicted of OWI in 1995. Pulver is free on a $500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
