Liquor Store Burglary Estimates Near $10,000

Police still investigating leads, but inventory of stolen product is about $10,000 according to store owner.

It hasn't been a happy new year for the Fischer family, who owns Muskego Beer and Liquor, and now there is a dollar figure to their loss.

Sometime overnight on Jan. 2  store was burglarized, and police have been looking into various leads, but also asking for the community's help.

The department said the break in occurred between the hours of 9 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday and at first Craig Fischer, family member and owner of the store, could only guess at the amount of items taken.

However, reports stated that at least 50 cases of top-shelf liquor was taken in the incident at a cost of $8,660, but Fischer said that he since inventoried additional losses, bringing that total closer to about $10,000.

Reports state the suspect or suspects broke in, damaging a door to gain entry to the basement. If you have any information, you are asked to contact Muskego Police at 262-679-4130.
