Minibike in Flames Prompts Fire Department Response, Police Reminders

Offroad vehicles on the road and in flames prompt reminders from police what vehicles are allowed on the road, and which aren't.

Two separate but similar incidents reported this week have police reminding residents that offroad vehicles belong just there: off the road.

Around 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2012 police were called to the W12900 block of Champions Drive, on Muskego's south side. Three 14 year old Muskego boys were advised that it's illegal to operate an ATV on the roadway.

About an hour later, police as well as the Tess Corners Fire Department responded to a report of a minibike on fire in the S7000 block of Cornell Circle. In this incident the owner of the minibike was also advised it was illegal to operate it on the roadway.

Police are hoping the two incidents drive home the point for residents: ATVs, minibikes, go-karts and other similar vehicles are not allowed on city streets. Exceptions are given for farm equipment that use the roads to travel between fields and farms.
