According to the criminal complaint:

On Nov. 19, Kartz was with a woman outside of her parent’s home in the 8200 block of West Tripoli Avenue when she discovered a hypodermic needle inside his truck. Kartz saw the woman spot the needle and he began to come at her, so she fled into her parent’s home.

She was unable to lock the door in time and Kartz forced his way in, pinned the woman to the ground and began to hit her. Officers were called to the home and when they arrived, the victim’s 63-year-old father was holding Kartz down on the ground.

Kartz began to swear at the officers as they entered the home and refused to let them see his hands. One officer then grabbed Kartz’ left hand so another officer could grab it, but Kartz immediately dove away so he could hide the arm behind his back.

Kartz then elbowed a police officer in the face, then began to hit the officer repeatedly. As the officer tried to get him under control, Kartz then bit the officer and was eventually sprayed with pepper spray to get under control.

The officer hit and bit by Kartz suffered numerous injuries, including a concussion.

Kartz is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $250 bond while awaiting trial.
