Muskego Man's 3rd OWI Arrest Came With Child in Car

A 26-year-old Muskego man switched seats with a passenger after he was pulled over in Racine County, according to police.

A 26-year-old Muskego man was driving drunk with a child in the car when he was arrested by Racine County sheriff's deputies Sunday, according to police.

Adam Kurlowski was charged with driving while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle, as well as operating while revoked. The charges carry a combined maximum sentence of three years in prison.

Kurlowski tried to switch seats with a female passenger after he was pulled over in Union Grove just before 8 p.m., according to a criminal complaint.

He later told police he did that because he wasn't supposed to be driving—his license was revoked from a previous OWI.

The woman was originally driving but was too drunk and all over the road, Kurlowski told police, so she pulled over and let him drive. He said he was trying to do the right thing and get the woman and child home.

But after Kurlowski took the wheel, another driver called police reporting the 26-year-old driving recklessly. A sheriff's deputy caught up to the vehicle and noticed it drift over the center line and then over the fog line, according to the complaint.

Kurlowski registered a blood-alcohol content of .16 on a breath test, according to the complaint.

He is due in court for a preliminary hearing Oct. 3.
