Muskego Stand Off Ends Up Peaceful

Domestic dispute draws out into standoff with Muskego and New Berlin police as well as County Sheriff's Department

A call to police around 9:30 Sunday morning from a woman in the Plum Creek Subdivision who stated her husband threatened her with a gun resulted into an extended standoff with police in a Muskego neighborhood.

According to a brief release issued by the Captain John La Tour, Patrol Division Commander with the Muskego Police Department, "officers were able to locate the female victim and determined that a 42-year-old male had threatened her with a revolver" upon their arrival at the residence.

After an initial investigation, the City of Muskego SWAT team was summoned and a perimeter of the residence was created.  Additional calls for assistance were made to New Berlin Police  and the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

Negotiators from the Muskego Police made several attempts to reach the suspect over the morning hours, and were finally able to make contact with him.  The man was taken into custody without incident.  Police commented that 'a small arsenal' was found in the house, according to a news report from WTMJ-4.

Further details as to charges pending and where the suspect was being held were not available from police at the time this story published.
