Police Department Honors Citizens and Officers

Annual awards ceremony recognizes service to community from citizens and police department personnel

It's an evening to thank those who often have thankless jobs, or who toil under anonymity for the benefit of the community. The Muskego Police Department's 2012 awards ceremony will be presented at 7 p.m. in the Muskego Room at City Hall.

Opening the evening will be a presentation of the colors by American Legion Post 356. Awards will be presented to MPD staff for length of service as well as meritorious service. (We have been asked to withhold the names until after the presentation of the awards.)

In particular, an, which closed a portion of a Muskego neighborhood for several hours on a Sunday morning saw many step up to make a dangerous situation resolve peacefully. A domestic dispute that day had tactical units surrounding the home of Bryan Schulz, who had threatened his family with a gun. He later surrendered, and is now serving a three-year probationary sentence.
