Police: Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested for OWI

A 47-year-old woman had a blood-alcohol content more than three times the legal limit to drive, according to a police report.

A 47-year-old woman was driving drunk when she struck a parked car and fled the scene, according to Muskego police.

Police say a vehicle on Oak Grove Drive was hit about 8:45 p.m. Aug. 9. As officers searched for the striking vehicle, dispatchers received a call from a person reporting a reckless driver, with a vehicle description that matched the one involved in the incident on Oak Grove Drive.

The caller followed the driver to Kingston Drive. Officers arrived and found the vehicle, with severe damage to its front quarter panel, parked in the driveway of a residence, according to a police report.

The woman answered the door and stumbled outside to speak officers, who immediately detected a strong smell of alcohol on her breath, according to the report.

She told police she just arrived home from running errands about 20 minutes prior. When questioned about the damage on her vehicle and twigs sticking out from the passenger-side window, the woman said she did not remember being in an accident, according to police.

The woman told police she drank two glasses of white wine earlier that afternoon and nothing since she returned home.

She failed field sobriety tests and had a .25 blood-alcohol content on breath tests, according to the police report.

She was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for a blood test and then to Waukesha County Jail.
