Police Seize $46K From Illegal Raffle at Marx Pioneer Inn

Police say the bar/restaurant did not have proper licensing for a progressive raffle/lottery-type game.

Muskego police say Marx Pioneer Inn ran an illegal raffle and have seized $46,266 from the business.

The Police Department got an anonymous tip Monday about an illegal raffle taking place at the bar/restaurant, W180 S7808 Pioneer Drive. The owner confirmed to police he was operating a progressive raffle/lottery-type game, according to a department news release.

After conferring with the state Department of Administration and Department of Justice, police determined the establishment did not have the proper state licensing, nor did it even qualify for a license.

The owner voluntarily shut the game down, and police seized all monies taken in for the raffle, which totaled $46,266, according to the news release.

The matter will be referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office for review.

The owner could not be immediately reached for comment Wednesday afternoon. Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
