Authorities are warning residents to keep their homes locked after a string of burglaries in surrounding communities.
Last week, Menomonee Falls police said homes were burglarized while residents were home, with suspects simply walking through unlocked patio doors.
Similar incidents have occurred in Sussex, Brookfield, Glendale, Bayside and Mequon, WISN reports. It's unclear if the incidents are all related, but the departments are working together to identify the perpetrators.
In Muskego, a resident helped prevent a break-in after reporting a male and female, who later admitted to several burglaries, peering into a window last month.
The city also experienced a string of garage burglaries in July, which resulted in the arrest of two people.
