Is the girl being investigated at all?

Oh, the joy of raising adolescents! Yes, this is a horrible incident. It was very wrong - on the parts of both involved. The girl is just as guilty as the boy as far as I'm concerned. I feel both need to be disciplined and do not feel that the boys' life should be ruined because of foolish choices that both made. Hopefully a real learning lesson for all kids.

I agree! Why is it the boys are always in trouble? Frankly, girls are a couple years more mature than boys mentally and physically which makes her more at fault. He is a VICTIM in this - I feel so sad for him that he was exposed to this at such a young age. I have several children and have seen that it is more often the girls who are aggressive.

If the girl sent these pictures voluntarily, then the boy should have done the right thing and immediately told an adult, not show the pictures to his friends. I'm sure there are plenty sides to this story. Since preteens are always searching for approval, did she send them because he coaxed her into doing so? Did the boy show his friends because he was talked into showing them? Honestly, they should each be punished equally. What I think the real problem is, are parents giving these young kids their own iPhones and laptops, and not monitoring what's going on! I grew up with 2 sisters, and INVOLVED and AWARE parents. I would have never even thought of sending provacative pictures of myself to anyone. Bottom line: maybe parents should do more monitoring of their own children!
