Strasser Charged With Fleeing; Cop Will Receive Training

Muskego man who was arrested for OWI in April in Milwaukee is charged with a misdemeanor for fleeing; officer who hit Strasser will not be reprimanded, but is instructed to undergo training for his use of profanity.

According to Patch's media partner at Fox 6, Muskego man Jeffrey Strasser has been charged with fleeing an officer in the wake of an incident in downtown Milwaukee in April 2012. Strasser was driving a friend's Lamboughini and was drunk when police pulled him from the vehicle and attempted to subdue him, according to reports.

A video of the arrest appeared to show officer Eric Ratzman striking Strasser, which led to an internal investigation by police to determine whether action would be taken against Ratzman.

Strasser had indicated earlier that he was considering legal action against Ratzman and the Milwaukee Police Department, but no citizen complaint was ever filed regarding the arrest.

Strasser’s blood alcohol content was .19 — or more than three times the legal limit for driving. If convicted of the charge, Strasser faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Milwaukee police completed the internal investigation into the videotaped arrest of Strasser, which concluded Ratzman was justified in the use of "focused strikes" to Strasser.

Officer Ratzmann will receive policy training regarding the use of profanity during the incident.

Did this guy have prior OWI convictions? If not .19 would be more than two times the legal limit-- not three.

The guy was attempting to reach in to his pockets (for his phone maybe?). He's lucky he didn't get shot

When I look this case up on the state courts web page (public information), this guy lives at 6601 Town Line Road, Racine, WI 53185. Why do we think he is a Muskego man?

I guess Town of Norway looks like Muskego to some news people. Ya' know it's down there in cow country, it's all like to them,

Yes, Muskego has great businesses! We also have a great Executive Director -- Tina Weiss -- who weRead More can thank for much of the Chamber's growth, as well as our own.
