Woman Arrested After Abandoning Car, Fleeing Accident

Police cited a Waukesha woman six times, including for open intoxicants, after an accident earlier this month on College Ave.

A 33-year-old Waukesha woman racked up six citations after allegedly crashing her car and abandoning it on College Avenue earlier this month.

According to a police report, the woman was northbound on Martin Drive when she failed to negotiate a slight right turn. The vehicle went over the curb and struck a rock, power pole and a no-parking sign.

Her car came to rest in the middle of College Avenue, where police found it unoccupied and missing a front driver's side tire about 2:45 a.m. Sept. 5.

An officer also found a half-full bottle of beer between the driver's side door and seat, according to the police report.

When neighbors heard the accident, they went outside and saw a person walking westbound on College, according to police.

About 10 p.m., the 33-year-old came to the Muskego police station. She told police she was not familiar with the area, and fled the scene because she was out on bond for another court case and was "afraid," according to the report.

Online court records show the woman has a pending Waukesha County Court case for four felony counts of manufacturing and delivering heroin.

The woman also told police people were in her car earlier in the night drinking beer, but she was alone at the time of the accident.

Police cited her for failing to wear a seat belt, failure to keep vehicle under control, operating without insurance, hit-and-run, failure to notify police of accident and open intoxicants.
