Council to Interview 4th District Candidates

The vacancy created by Keith Werner's resignation will be filled Tuesday night; here are the candidates.

Four candidates have stepped forward for the 4th District Aldermanic seat on the Common Council to serve out the term of Keith Werner, who resigned about a month ago.

Werner was facing a recall based in large part on his 'yes' vote for a lake park purchase earlier this year. The district includes a large portion of lake residents, who were vocal in their opposition to the purchase of land on the lake by the city for future use as a public park.

The following candidates will appear before the Common Council, which will decide by paper ballot after an interview process who will fill the remaining term of 4th District Alderman. The term expires April of 2013.
