Former Gas Station Site Seeks Rezoning

A public hearing will be held on Feb. 26 on a request of gas station owners to be a part of the downtown revival district.

Similar to the rezoning of DJ's pub, Jay Petroleum, which owns the former Shell gas station site at the northwest corner of Janesville Road and Lannon Drive, has asked for the parcel to be rezoned to a downtown revival property. The hearing will take place at the Common Council meeting planned at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

The notice from the City of Muskego is as follows:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Common Council of the City of Muskego will hold a Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m., or shortly thereafter, on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Muskego Room of City Hall, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue, to consider the following upon the petition of the City of Muskego:

Upon the petition of Jay Petroleum Inc. shall the following area known as:

Tax Key Number 2193.070/S75 W17226 Janesville Road

be granted a rezoning from B-4 - Highway Business District to DR-1 - Downtown Revival District for the purpose of expanding commercial development opportunities on site. The 2020 Comprehensive Plan already identifies this area for Commercial uses.

The petitioner's application is available for public inspection at the City of Muskego Community Development Department. All interested parties will be given an opportunity to be heard.
