Frey Automotive Gets Muskego Site Approved by Plan Commission

Jason (JJ) Frey has had his share of meetings, where issues of car inventory on his lot has raised concerns over the conditional use granted to the used car and auto repair lot owner.

However, this one was a big step toward resolving those issues permanently, as Frey received approval from the commission on a building and site plan for a new facility to be built just north of his current property.

The site plan includes 99 spaces for vehicle sales along with a 7,084 square foot facility that includes a showroom, service area and a mezzanine area for office and storage space. The expansion has been a long time in coming, according to Frey.

"I bought the land in 2002, and I'm hoping I am able to get the final OK to get started on the new building," he said.  Frey has owned the current site since 1996.

Frey also said that in addition to the 10 employees he currently has, he is estimating the expansion will require about three or four more.

Commissioner Jim Burke told Frey, "We're glad to see you moving in this direction."

The development of the three-acre parcel will be completed next year, pending approval by the common council on September 14.
