Muskego Will Enter the Social Media Arena in 2012

Facebook page, Twitter will allow more information to be shared with ever-mobile residents.

Jeff Muenkel, city planner for Muskego, announced Tuesday night that the city will 'go live' with a fan page on Facebook as well as a Twitter account in the new year.

"We're hoping to get more information out there, and provide links back to the website on a regular basis," Muenkel explained. "News from the Police Department, Parks and Recreation, meetings - there's enough happening to provide things to post."

Other Muskego organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club and other related publications are already regulars in the social media world, he acknowledged.  In addition, other cities also are using the medium to reach their residents and news organizations with news and events information.
