New City Website the Work of Many Hands

Taskforce made up of local citizens and professionals helped to make the new website a key in communication and transparency for the community.

Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti expressed her thanks for the recent work of the Task Force on Communications, which brought about the structure and contents of the city's new website, which launched last week. The following is the release sent from the mayor's office.

The City of Muskego is pleased to announce its new website is now live! 

"Communications are an important part of life as well as doing business," stated Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti.  This is what led the Mayor to put together a team of professionals on the Mayor’s Task Force on Communications.

Members include Patti Johnson – President, Ron Sonntag Public Relations Agency; Zeke Radovanovic – Store Manager; Wal-Mart Supercenter; Tom Reck- Information Technology, Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company; Melissa Thorson – Director of Marketing, InPro Corporation; Scott Weiss -    Information Technology, Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company; Cassandra Wurster -  Marketing Communications Specialist, GE Healthcare, Alderman Rob Glazier and John Wisniewski – Director of Information Technology, City of Muskego. 

The Task Force reached out to city departments by asking for a strengths and weaknesses regarding communications.  It was clear to the Task Force members that a new website was in order to enhance two-way communications for overall efficiencies and interactivity for the residents and businesses.

The city entered a contest and won a $5000 grant to apply toward development of a new website with Civics Plus, which specializes in municipal websites.   

I.T. Director John Wisniewski stated, "This project was a collaboration of many staff members along with Task Force members and provides a higher level of communications."

Residents and businesses are encouarged to check out the new site where information is more readily available along with the ability to sign up for automatic notifications, newsletters, agendas and more under the Notify Me section.
