Parkland Mall Case Closed: a Look at the Week in Review

Plenty of discussion on the empty lot known as the "tree farm" on Janesville, as well as a study of an intersection that may bring another roundabout to the landscape. What else made news this week? Read on.

We started out the week with a study of delinquent taxpayers, and Muskego's unpaid taxes topped the $1 million mark.

In the meantime, new jobs and new businesses are coming to Muskego in 2013, according to Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti. She made those remarks during the State of the City Address on Feb. 15.

The Muskego Historical Society announced a fundraiser for the Tailspin Roller coaster sign, which is in need of repair. A historic Muskego Pub Crawl on March 16 will start and end at Marx Pioneer Inn, and will stop at four other Muskego bars that have a historical tale to tell as well.

Student athletes brought some great news this week, as the Franklin-Muskego-Oak Creek-Whitnall girls gymnastics team took the Conference title, as well as the Muskego High School Chess team.

Andrija Novakovich was named Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year. He is a junior forward on the MHS soccer team, scoring 41 goals and passing for 13 assists this past season, leading the Warriors to the sectional final.

Wrestlers Austin Quartullo and Connor Price are also heading to the WIAA Individual State Meet this weekend.

Yes, Virginia, there was an election this week: Pat Roggensack and Ed Fallone advanced to the general election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

A relatively small matter in the Public Works Committee meeting led to our most commented-upon story of the week. A study that will begin for the Moorland Road/Durham Drive and Woods Road intersection could recommend roundabouts.

Finally, the longstanding dispute between developer Art Dyer and the City of Muskego may have come to a close, at least in court.  in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
