State of the City Address Will be Held March 19

First-time event will be sponsored by Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce has announced that there will be a 'State of the City' address given by Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti on Monday, March 19 at 7:30 a.m. at the . The timing is hoped to allow people to attend before work, and will feature breakfast for $8 per person.

Tina Weiss, executive director of the, explained that the event, which is being held for the first time for the city, will allow for questions as well from the audience. She said it helps to serve the Chamber's goals of providing education and information to the community and their members as well.

The concept was created with the mayor, Weiss explained, and will also include a presentation on the Janesville Road progress for phase I by city planner Jeff Muenkel, which is the installation of underground utilities from Moorland Road west to Lannon Drive along Janesville Road.

Along with Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti's address, City Planner Jeff Muenkel will provide an overview of the Janesville Road construction planned this year, and Steve Filmanowicz will speak on what's known as the 'new urbanism' and what it has to do with Muskego.
