A Family of Warriors

For some people who have graduated from high school, the phrase 'you can never go back' doesn't apply.

The Przybylka family proves that, as they really have never gone too far from Muskego High School, and parents Bruce and Amy get to relive weekend football games through their children's eyes. In fact, even before there were kids, they had never missed a homecoming game.

This year's game marked the 36th game the couple has attended, missing only two in the past 38 years. One year, Amy was giving birth to her son Luke, and another year the family had to attend a wedding.

Muskego High Schol athletic director called the family's dedication "really special, just an amazing story of school spirit."

Bruce was a 1974 graduate at Muskego, where he met his wife Amy (then Leighton), a 1975 graduate.  The two were indeed 'high school sweet hearts' and got married, and had their son Luke in 1992.

Luke "was an outstanding running back" according to Amy on the MHS football team, and is now in his second year of college at Carroll University. Amy said "his dream came true when he could come back to Muskego, and now he is a coach on the freshman football team."

The Przybylka's daughter Allysa is currently a senior at MHS, and is on the cheerleading squad. Amy is at most home games because of it and also because she continues to put her heart into volunteering.

"I've been a volunteer for the Gridiron Club when Luke was in football, and am helping out on the booster club with Allysa in cheer. We had the pleasure of two years with both kids involved at the games, and I can't tell you what a joy that was," Amy said.

The family was together on Oct. 5 homecoming game, with Bruce donning his varsity jacket from his days at MHS.

Amy admits that this year will be an emotional one, as Allysa winds up her last year at MHS.

"Believe it or not, I'm going to be sad not to volunteer anymore," she admitted.

However, it's a safe bet that the Przybylka's will be in the stands filling their role as the 12th man when homecoming 2013 comes along.
