According to a release from Muskego-Norway Schools, Dr. Kelly Thompson has been chosen as the district's next superintendent. She will succeed Dr. Joe Schroeder, who is resigning as of June 30 to take on the role of Associate Executive Director of the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA).
Jim Schaefer, school board president, said, "Dr. Thompson's knowledge of our district, our goals and our initiatives make her uniquely qualified to carry the district forward to new heights. Her integrity, character and passion for the education and growth of every student make her the right person for our district's future. Her mission driven approach to continuous improvement will help the Muskego-Norway Schools progress on our journey to being the district of choice in Southeastern Wisconsin."
Schroeder called her "an exceptionally dedicated and capable learning leader, who is also an individual of the highest personal integrity. Muskego-Norway is blessed to have such a fabulous human being and leader at the helm for the district's next chapter."
Thompson has served the district for 19 years in various roles including coordinator of pupil services, high school associate principal, director of instruction as well as her current role as assistant superintendent.
She stated in the release, "It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to expand my influence in a system focused on every student learning, growing and succeeding. I look forward to the continued collaborative efforts working alongside a strong team of dedicated board members, outstanding administrators, exceptional teachers, devoted staff members and committed parents and community members, engaging students and preparing them for the future."
